Black River Falls is home to Wisconsin’s third largest microbrewery. The story of Sand Creek Brewery dates to before the Civil War: the building which houses Sand Creek began its life as a brewery in 1856. Sand Creek is the third brewing company to occupy the premises, and beer is still stored in the same 19th-century beer cellar.
Today, Sand Creek brews up some of the finest beers in the world, earning three gold medals at the World Beer Cup. Try their Wild Ride India Pale Ale, and enjoy the spicy goodness of the Cascade and Chinook hops. Sample the sweet Woody’s Wheat or the rich Badger Porter. Sip the smooth One Planet Ale, and savor an Oscar’s Chocolate Oatmeal Stout.
Brewery tours are available every Friday at 3pm. The tours are free. You must be 21 unless accompanied by a parent, legal guardian or spouse of legal age. During the summer, the brewery is also open on Saturdays from noon until 4pm.
