About Us

Jackson County Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers is a private, non-profit organization that provides non-professional services, free of charge, to older adults and disabled people in Jackson County, regardless of income, religious belief, or ethnic background. Services are provided by trained volunteers from area congregations and communities to help people improve their quality of life and remain independent as long as possible. Possible services may include caring companionship, telephone reassurance, shopping and errands, transportation and escort to appointments, yard work and minor home repairs, light meal preparation and respite care. A visually impaired program that provides audio tapes of local newspapers, a new mother’s helper support service, a school based mentoring program, a library book delivery service for homebound individuals, and transitional help from hospital or extended care facility to home, following an illness or surgery, are also available.

Jackson County Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers, is a faith based organization, providing volunteer opportunities for individuals wanting to put their faith into action by helping others.  We match friendly volunteers to older adults, disabled individuals and people with special needs. If you are looking for a rewarding experience or someone you love needs assistance, please contact Interfaith.

In 2018 Interfaith began their Time for You Respite Program, providing stimulating activities for those experiencing memory loss, valuable resources for family members, and a few hours of respite for caregivers.  For more information, call Interfaith at 715-284-7058 or email at
