The Black River Area Chamber of Commerce seeks a dynamic Executive Director to lead operations, collaborate with the Board of Directors, and represent the Chamber and its members in the community. This role demands exceptional multitasking and leadership skills to manage event planning, staff supervision, financial oversight, membership growth, economic development, and tourism promotion effectively. This is a salaried position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute Board directives, attend meetings, and propose innovative programs.
- Oversee committees, finances, office operations, and staff management.
- Lead Chamber programs, signature events, and membership expansion efforts.
- Represent the Chamber in civic, business, and economic development initiatives, managing public relations.
- Spearhead tourism promotion through public speaking and community engagement, with availability for evening and weekend commitments.
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Economic Development or a related, and/or an equivalent experience or combination of experience and education.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, G-Suite, WordPress and social media platforms.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within a Chamber of Commerce or similar organization.
- Strong understanding of business operations and economic development.
- Strong knowledge of the local area/community.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, and relationship building skills.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000
