The Library is excited to share that our program room and display cabinet are host to a BEAUTIFUL selection of locally crafted quilts, clothing, pillows, purses, and more! This display will be available for you to enjoy throughout the month of September, which is National Sewing Month. (Attached are a few pictures. There are more pictures on the Library’s Facebook page, or you are welcome to reach out to me if you would like me to send more pictures to you.)
“On September 21, 1982, at the request of the American Home Sewing & Craft Association, an industry and trade association supporting the sewing and craft industries, President Ronald Reagan, under Proclamation #4976, declared September as National Sewing Month: In recognition of the importance of home sewing to our Nation.”
We are grateful to all the sewists who so graciously allowed us to borrow their handcrafted treasures for this display. We are also extremely grateful to Sally Laubach, Mona Baker, and Kay Kohlman who so generously donated their time to organize the display.
