The Alzheimer’s Association is the nation’s leading voluntary health organization dedicated to Alzheimer’s care, support, and research – bringing hope, help, and progress to millions of families affected by dementia. Founded in 1980 by passionate caregivers and advocates, the organization has grown into a powerful nationwide network with a presence in communities across the country, working tirelessly to improve lives and advance science.

Today, Alzheimer’s and dementia impact an estimated 55 million people worldwide. In the United States alone, more than 6 million individuals are living with Alzheimer’s, supported by over 11 million unpaid caregivers. The Alzheimer’s Association meets this challenge head-on by offering vital education programs, local support services, and 24/7 resources for individuals and families navigating this journey – while also leading groundbreaking research aimed at prevention, better treatments, and ultimately, a cure.

Here in our region, the Alzheimer’s Association plays an active role in strengthening community connections through awareness events and opportunities to get involved. One of the most impactful is the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s® – a meaningful event that brings people together in support, remembrance, and action.
