Step into the dark side of Black River Country for a spine-chilling Halloween trail packed with twisted clowns, lurking creatures, haunted scenes, and just enough fear to keep you moving.

Warning: The woods are watching. The clowns are waiting. All trail participants must be in line by 8:00 PM.

The trail returns October 24, 2026.

Bring your courage, your walking shoes, and your loudest scream. Trail of Terror is hosted by the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce and built with local volunteers, businesses, organizations, and fearless community partners.

Free parking is available. Watch for parking signs when you arrive.

Tickets & Payment

Trail admission is $5.00 per person. Tickets are sold on the day of the event, and cash or card payments are accepted.

Tickets are nonrefundable.

Arrival Deadline

The event runs from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. All trail participants must be in line by 8:00 PM.

Free Wagon Ride

The trail begins at the Chamber. After completing the trail, participants receive a free wagon ride back to the Chamber.

Food & Beverages

Food and beverages will be available for an additional cost.

Facilities

Portable toilets will be available during the event.

Accessibility & Animals

Strollers, wheelchairs, mobility devices, and other accommodations are welcome. Pets are not permitted, but trained service animals are welcome.

The event may be canceled due to weather.

Any cancellation announcement will be posted on the Black River Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.

A lighter Halloween stop for little monsters.

Not every Halloween fan is ready for full terror. The Kid-Friendly Zone offers a lower-scare place to enjoy Halloween games and entertainment during the same hours as the trail.

Guest Rules

Please follow these rules to help keep the trail safe and enjoyable for everyone.

  • All ages are welcome
  • Children 15 and younger must be accompanied by an adult
  • Stay on the trail and follow all staff instructions
  • Do not touch actors, volunteers, or props
  • No locking arms
  • No foul language
  • No smoking or alcohol on the trail
  • No littering
  • No pets — trained service animals are welcome
  • No electric bikes or scooters
  • Frights may include fog and flashing or strobe lights
  • Enter at your own risk
  • You may be photographed or recorded
